Tribute to Guruji and Light on Yoga - Day 21
Aparigraha is the fifth and last of the Yama's. Parigraha means hording or collecting so the "a" before means not. Non-greed or non-hording. It is similar to asteya, non-stealing where one should not take what is not theirs but goes on to state one should not take what one doesn't really need or require immediately. This greed in humans brings disturbances and frustrations to the mind.
In Light on Yoga it says a yogi should lead a simple life and have faith that he will be able to provide for his future and train the mind to not feel the loss or lack of anything. "Then everything he really needs will come to him by itself in proper time."
Namaste.
