The four purusartha or the aims of life, provide guidelines of how one can lead a virtuous life.
They are:
Right sense of duty: dharma - the foundation of yama and niyama
Wealth or life's requirements: artha
Desire for progeny and accomplishments: kama
When desires are properly acknowledged and mindfully fulfilled one moves towards freedom
Emancipation where one becomes free from the cycles of life: moksa
Namaste.
