Costa Rica Retreat - Two Upcoming Information Sessions


 
Join us either in Melfort on July 29th or Christopher Lake on July 30th for an information session/open house about our upcoming Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica.
 
We will try and have some flight information available plus a few of the free time options.

I am so grateful to be on this journey daily. The ups and downs.  Today, I'm grateful for being able to practice early this morning when my dog decided to wake me up.  I could have went back to bed that early, but decided not to.

Using the trestle for part of my practice to bring awareness to the back and twisting.  I know the lighting isn't great, but in the first forward bend I was using the lower bar to really create gentle length to the back of the neck.

One Hundred Days of Celebrating B.K.S. Iyengar Quotes and Sutras - Day 1 to 16




This year marks the Centenary of B.K.S. Iyengar's birth.
All year people all over the world have been hosting different events to celebrate this occasion.

I started last December with 100 Days of Celebrating B.K.S. Iyengar using his book Light on Yoga to go through the asana from the book and practice myself. 

Then I thought I would like to continue so took inspiring and helpful quotes from many of his other writings, like Light on Astanga yoga, Light on Life, etc.  So much wisdom.

To continue until I leave for the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India in November I thought I would like to delve more into Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.  I have included audio of the sutras. I am using a tutorial I found on You Tube and will share the link to that also. I thought trying to include the chanting of the sutras would add another layer to really learning the history of yoga. 

So much to study.  I am so grateful to have found this path and know I will always have something to learn for the rest of my life!
