Yoga and Pranayama to Raise Your Vibrational Energy

Vital energy or life energy is called prana in sanskrit.

Mr. Iyengar writes in Light on Life that "prana is the energy permeating the universe at all levels.  It is physical, mental, intellectual, sexual, spiritual, and cosmic energy."  This prana flows in everything that exists, being the connection between the physical world, consciousness and mind.

Our prana depends on the frequency of vibration in us. The higher the frequency of vibration, the more life force.  Our vibration can be raised through the practice of  asana and pranayama.

From Light on Life, by B.K.S. Iyengar:
"Pranayama means the prolongation and restraint of breath. Since prana  is energy and life force, pranayama means the extension and expansion of all our vital energy."

The body must be ready to accept this increase in current that pranayama practice brings. That is why the asanas (postures) must be mastered, incorporated and understood in the body, mind and breath before starting an intensive pranayama practice.  Once you do start, this vital high-quality energy, or prana, carries an awareness that opens the mind and can penetrate deeper within bringing with it self-healing powers.

Of course there is much more that can be written about yoga and the limbs of asana and pranayama. When the body is ready the rest will follow.

Enjoy exploring your own prana and ways to Raise Your Vibrational Energy.

Namaste.
